Following the unprecedented outbreak of the Corona Virus, Governments and their agencies are looking for ways to disseminate information as fast as possible. It is with this need for information sharing that ministries have to use all platforms for information sharing.
Tasked initially by Ministry Of Health Kenya, little did we not know that we would be helping 6 countries across Africa to use social media in the fight against the Corona Virus.
Impact
For the ministries, their online platforms achieved a trust factor where citizens would rely on their social media pages to get the latest information regarding COVID-19.
They would also reach a significant number of people daily with countries such as Nigeria recording highs of 4.5 Million people reached daily.
Finally, they would significantly less to reach their citizens with the means of social media and ensure that the information was easily accessible to all citizens.
